Simple & Fast Online Training To Become a Security Officer in Texas

    Please be advised under the Private Security Act (Occ. Code Chapter 1702) and Administrative Rule 35.4 (37 Tex. Admin. Code 1), a criminal conviction may disqualify you from a registration, commission or license under the Act. You may wish to review Rule 35.4’s list of disqualifying offenses and the related periods of ineligibility, available on the department’s website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/psb/index.htm.

    You also have a right to request from the department a criminal history evaluation letter under Occupations Code Section 53.102.

    Can I complete the course 100% Online?

    Yes! Our Level 2 and Level 3 courses are all completely online. You can complete the course work at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home.

    How do I become a Security Officer?

    The first step is to take the Non-Commissioned Security Officer Training online. From there you will need to submit an application through TOPs to become licensed with the State of Texas as a Security Officer and obtain your Guard Card.     How long does it take to complete the course?

    Every Student is different. However we find on average it takes approximately 2 hours to complete the Level 2 Training Course. The Commissioned Training Course is a 45 hour course as required by DPS.

    How do I test for my Firearms Proficiency?

    You can qualify with your firearm for the Commissioned Security Officer License with the State Texas through any range that offers an LTC course. Give us a call and we can help pair you with one near you.
