This course provides the online training component only. Upon completion, students receive a certificate for the online portion, which must be signed off by a Firearms Instructor for range qualification. Course Details:
This course is the online training component only. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate of course completion for the online training. The Firearms Qualification & Defensive Tactics components are to be completed separately. The certificate must be signed off by a Firearms Instructor for range qualification. Training Requirement Update:
Beginning January 1, 2024, H.B. 3424 amends the Occupations Code to require that classroom instruction on handgun proficiency, included as part of a basic training course for commissioned security officers, also include instruction on self-defense tactics.
